For those of you who know how much i love LOST and how good i think it is.. i found something BETTER.
PRISON BREAK!!
Ok here's the rough comparison between Lost and Prison Break.
The way Lost grips you is with its mystery -- each episode produces more questions and perhaps some answers. The intriguing plot slowly unfolds and you delightfully anticipate more and more answers and watch the story unfold.
The way Prison Break grips you is with extremity (whether violence, blood, or shock) and with crisis -- you know the general plan is to escape from the prison. So each episode you gradually learn exactly how they plan to escape.. but the thing is problems keep surfacing that screw up their plans or somehow damage their plans.
A simple example would be like.. let's say they plan to dig through the ground to escape. Then they spend alot of trouble then acquire this spade to dig. Then they have to plan their digging precisely at this time so that there are no guards, and if they are too late then the guard come they kena caught and can't escape.
Then the episode will like end with the spade being stolen or broken 5 minutes before the time.
SOMETHING like that. That was a purely fictional example because i didn't want to spoil it. but every episode is something like that, with a freaking OBSTACLE that screws their plans.
Ok so now you know how Prison Break grips the audience (you!) .. so what exactly is the show about? (a question that can never be answered in less than 5 sentences if you ask about LOST)
It is about a man, Lincoln Burrows, who has been falsely convicted of killing the Vice-President's brother, and is sentenced to hang in 70 days or something like that. Then his brother, Michael Scofield devices a complex plan to get his brother out.
Scofield is a structural engineer, and he actually had the blueprints of the whole jail grounds. (how he got it is explained in the 1st episode) So his plan quite zhai one. You watch the show you'll see his plan unfold.
So in jail, he acquires the help of various individuals which he needs.. rather skilfully. Very interesting and very witty. DAMN GOOD!
Also out of jail, Lincoln's ex-girlfriend tries to uncover who set Lincoln up and WHY. This leads to another ongoing sub-plot in the show.
Ok i know that's more than 5 sentences but it's to give you a better idea. I can just summarize it actually - Some guy trying to escape from prison with his brother, and he has a very complex and interesting plan.
OK, so now you know, must go watch! It screens every Thursday on Channel 5 at 10pm.
Oh oh, ok to attract you even more, there's eye candy for both guys and girls!
The lead actor . Not a very good picture, believe me i tried searching! But this is the nicest i could find.
The nurse in the show who has some sort of love-thing going on with Scofield but nothing substantial yet.
She's super pretty la!! She's prettier than these photos really.
okok. go watch.
